Werk-Brau Stump Ripper for excavators: A dual shank stump ripper with a V-shaped section engineered to grab roots and remove the entire stump system (not grind it, not chip it). Built to help land clearing crews pull stumps roots and leave the area ready for what gets built or buried next. In this video, we cover: - Dual shank + V-section design: grabs roots and helps rip the stump system out clean - Big stump strategy: drive through the center, split it, pull sections out - Stump ripper vs single tine ripper: dual contact = more “grab,” less poking/prying - Stump ripper vs stump grinder: grinder can leav
e a decaying root system below grade (voids/settling risk depending on the site) - Who it’s for: landscapers, land clearing crews, municipalities, and general contractors - Who it’s NOT for: primarily frost ripping (choose a frost ripper / single tine), or jobs that only need grass later (grinder may be faster)
This here is the Werk Brau stump ripper, which has a dual shank design with a V shaped section in between them. And that V isn't just for looks. It's engineered to grab roots and rip the entire stump system right out of the ground, not grind it, not chip it away. Just simply remove it.
And when you've got a stump that's too large to pull out in one shot, we can drive it down through the center and split it first. Work it up into sections and pull the pieces out clean. The whole system comes out, roots and all.
Now let's compare that to one single tine ripper.
The single point of contact means you're poking and prying versus the dual contact, which gives you that grabbing action.
And unlike a grinder, you're not leaving decaying root system under the ground that could shift, create voids, or interfere with whatever that gets built or buried in that space later.
If your application is primarily frost ripping, you'll probably wan
t to go with one of our,
frost ripper style attachments or a single tine ripper.
Or if you're a person who doesn't need anything in the future, you're just going to have grass out there. A stump grinder might be faster and more efficient for your job site.
We build these in a full lineup from compact to full size. So whether you're running a smaller excavator on a residential lot or a full size machine clearing acreage, there's a configuration that fits
This is great for landscapers, land clearing crews, municipalities and general contractors.
