Werk-Brau Skeleton Rock Buckets are built for heavy-duty material separation, allowing operators to efficiently sift large rock from smaller debris in demanding jobsite conditions.
Designed for quarry work and rock applications, this bucket separates large rock and debris from finer material while allowing smaller particles to fall through during operation. Constructed with high-strength, abrasion-resistant steel in critical wear areas, it features reinforced wear straps and tapered side plates to reduce wear and improve dumping efficiency.

A standard rock bucket is a solid-sided, solid-floored bucket designed purely for digging and retaining material. A skeleton bucket has an open tine frame instead of a solid floor and sides, which allows fine material to fall through the tines during the dig and lift cycle. This screening action makes skeleton buckets ideal when you need to separate coarse material from fines at the point of excavation.
Werk-Brau offers a standardized tine spacing based on the class of the machine you will be working with. However, custom Tine spacing is available and depends on the maximum size of material you want to fall through and the minimum size you want to retain. Common spacings range from 3 inches to 6 inches. For rip-rap applications retaining 6-inch-plus rock, a wider spacing is appropriate. For demolition cleanup retaining brick-sized rubble, a tighter spacing is better. Our team can help you select the right spacing for your application.
Skeleton buckets can be used for digging in competent rock and hard material, but they are not efficient for loose soil or soft material where fines make up the majority of the load. For mixed conditions, some contractors run both a standard bucket and a skeleton bucket, using each where it provides the most value.
