Meet Werk‑Brau's 84" Heavy Duty High Capacity bucket running on a 40–50 metric ton excavator. This big bucket is built for moving a lot of material fast in lighter digging like sand and site development. In this video, Todd Kundinger breaks down what matters: capacity, rigidity, tooth system options, and why application matching is everything. Bucket Specs & Setup Width: 84 in Weight: 6,000 lb Capacity: 5+ yards Added Side Cutters Reinforced top channel This setup is shown with CNH SmartFit teeth (CASE-only tooth system). Where this bucket shines (and where it doesn’t) Great fit for light / easy digging like sand, mass excavation, site development Not quite right for consistent hard rock / bedrock prying Every application is different. If you want the right bucket, the right duty class, and the right capacity for your material — reach out to your regional rep or inside sales team.
Hi, I'm Todd Kundinger. Wanted to talk a little bit about these buckets that are on these CX4 90s.
these are 84 inch heavy duty, high capacity buckets. They weigh in at around 6,000 pounds. They have a little over five yards cubic yard capacity.
we have side cutters added on. When you add side cutters to your bucket, you can anticipate adding a solid 2 to 3% additional capacity to that bucket.
a little bit about the bucket reinforced top channel proprietary design by us
at Werk-Brau. What that does is
gives the bucket more rigidity. What in turn means to you is,
longevity,
strength.
Resisting cracking.
And on this bucket I did want to showcase with this particular machine. Being that it is on a case machine, and this is a case dealer. It has CNH smart fit teeth,
which are a CASE only tooth.
We are currently
the only manufacturer of attachments that is equipping our buckets with CNH teeth. If that is
the tooth that you choose.
And when it comes to your brand of machinery that you're selling, we can equip our buckets with any tooth that you
spec.
To allow you to capture that parts of business after the sale.
You’re
seeing this bucket and you're hearing 84in high capacity on a 40 to 50 metric ton machine. That's a lot of bucket for that size machine. That is true. But here down in the
application this particular end users going to be utilitizing it for is going to be site development on the top surface here in Southwest Florida.
Lots of sand lots of easy digging.
You know, when they get down below six, seven, eight feet, then they do hit a coral rock base or, some bedrock areas, but this machine will not be hitting those areas. And if it does,
this bucket can withstand a great deal of abuse.
But again, for the long term use, it is not recommended.
If you are looking at an environment or an application that is nothing like this.
we would probably,
narrow the bucket down, lower the capacity, or we would go to an extreme or severe duty bucket
At the end of the day, every application is different from one part of Florida to the other. The environments, applications change dramatically. Whether it's Florida, Ohio, Alaska, everything is different. So that's what we're here for. We're here to support you, to help you spec the right bucket, the right duty, the right class of bucket for the application specific that you need it for.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to myself. Your particular regional sales manager, or anyone on our inside sales team that can assist you. Thanks for watching.
